I'm Joanna Douglas, but everyone calls me JoJo.

I love my students, and I love music, and bringing those two passions together has transformed my classroom in the most joyful ways. I cannot wait to share that joy with you.
Joanna Douglas, My Story
Music has always been woven into my life. From the time I was little, I was mesmerized by melodies, singing constantly at home, in school plays, and in church choirs. Today, not much has changed. I still sing in my church choir, and I regularly perform ensemble roles in local professional theatre productions.

I’ve spent the last 25 years as an elementary educator, teaching children from preschool through 4th grade. For the past decade, I’ve taught kindergarten and 1st grade, and I am currently a proud kindergarten teacher.
​
Music has always been one of my most powerful teaching tools. But over the years, I noticed myself growing weary of the classroom music options available. I wanted something more modern, more engaging, and a lot more joyful. Something I loved just as much as my students did.
​
So I began writing my own songs.
​
These songs quickly became part of my classroom routines, celebrations, and learning activities. As I watched the impact they had on my students, including their focus, confidence, and joy, I realized I had created something special.
​
With encouragement from my brother, Paul, I started turning these classroom songs into something more. I also brought in my father, Bert Wilcox, a musician and songwriter, whose experience and talent helped shape the music into what it is today.
​
Together, the three of us created Learn With JoJo, a place where modern, joyful, classroom-ready songs are designed to teach, lift spirits, and spark imagination.
​
Our hope is that these songs bring joy and connection to your home or classroom, just as they have to ours. Thank you for joining us on this wonderful journey!​

Bert Wilcox
My dad, Bert Wilcox, began his career as a published songwriter and touring performer in contemporary Christian music back in the 1980s. He stepped away from the music world to build and run his contracting business. Now in retirement, he is proud and excited to come back to his musical roots and create again. Being able to write music with my dad has been one of the greatest joys of this journey.
Paul Wilcox
My brother Paul has encouraged me from the very beginning, and he has been the creative engine behind bringing Learn With JoJo to life. Everything you see and hear in the final product has been shaped by his talents. Creating this together has brought us closer, and it has made this entire journey even more meaningful to me.
